Kirk Law Office is not a big-law operation. It is a one-woman show. In addition to being a lawyer, I am married with two children. Being a mom is a tougher job than being a lawyer. Believe it or not, kids are more demanding than clients. My two boys keep me more than busy with sports, homework, laundry and meals. The best demands they place on me are the ones that require me to put away the computer, tablet, or phone and just have fun. “Play with us, Mom.” is my favorite reminder that I am, and should be, so much more than my clients’ lawyer. The boys have insisted on having their pictures on my website too. Scroll down to see them.
I am a member of the Superior Sunrise Centennial Rotary Club where I volunteer at numerous local events and support regional and international causes. I am a member of the Board of Directors for the Superior Business Improvement District and the University of Wisconsin Superior Foundation. My hobbies include gardening, reading Russian literature, baking (my favorite is pumpkin pie), and keeping up with my kids. I volunteered with numerous Wisconsin Bar committees, sections, and activities. I presented and spoke at many State Bar conventions http://nosubhealth.com/product/clomid/ and conferences. I taught courses for UW-Superior’s Paralegal Certification Program and serve on their Curriculum Planning Committee.
I graduated from UW-Superior (Superior, WI) in 2001 and attended my first year of law school at Quinnippiac University School of Law (Hamden, CT) but decided the East Coast pace of life wasn’t my cup of tea. I returned to Superior, WI and graduated from the weekend program offered at Hamline School of Law (St. Paul, MN) in 2006. I was named an Up & Coming Attorney by the Wisconsin Law Journal in 2010. In 2013 I was distinguished as the first recipient of the UW-Superior Alumni Association’s award for Outstanding Young Alumni Achievement. In 2014, 2015 and 2016 I received the designation of a Rising Star from Superlawyers.com. In 2015 I was named by the Duluth News Tribune as one of the year’s “20 Under 40”.
Here are my boys…
Did I happen to mention that I am a Yellowjacket?
